About Foundation Más

Foundation Más is a legal Colombian foundation and has official articles of association that are constructed at a notary in Santa Marta. Foundation Más is registerd at the Chamber of Commerce in Santa Marta and has a checking account at Banco Occidente.

 

Foundation Más has a Colombian treasurer and bookkeeper and is know by the Colombian tax office. The official name is Fundación Más.

Support

photo2Foundation Más aims to support underprivileged children of Taganga and Santa Marta by supporting their skills (English classes, music lessons, handy-crafts, homework coaching, playing games, etc.). A substantial part of the profit of Academia Latina will be donated to foundation Más. Foundation Más will ensure that more, and hopefully all, children in Taganga, in the age between 5 and 12 years, are enabled to go to the local public school.

Mission

Foundation Más provides needy children with an opportunity to make permanent and long lastinglifestyle changes. Foundation Más develops programs focused oneducation, health and wellbeing with the support and guidance of educational institutions and child care institutions as well as volunteers.

Vision

To become a foundation which provides comprehensive assistance to Colombian youths by means of sustainable projects of national and international renown, through which individuals or entities can help attain the foundation’s objectives.

Objectives

The main objective of foundation Más is to ensure that more childrens of Taganga and Santa Marta can participate in the local school system so that they too have a future full of opportunities.

Presently, the foundation focuses on helping vulnerable children in Taganga and Santa Marta, principally in the following five sectors:

Colombia is the only South American country with coastlines on both the North Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Three mighty North-South Andean cordilleras separate the western coastal lowlands from the almost empty eastern jungles, with 54 percent of Colombia´s land but only 3 percent of the people.


Most Colombians are of mixed ethnicity; about 20 percent claim European descent. Native Indians, about one percent of the population, live in the eastern jungles.


Colombia counts 5 different regions nature wise, like the Atlantic Coast, the Pacific Coast, the Orinoquía, the Amazon and the Andean region. Colombia is a country with beautiful nature and many different cultures and customs.
